68-Year-Old Runner Died During Marathon

From WEAU.com:

Officers say a 68-year-old man died during a marathon that went from Boulder Junction and Eagle River on Saturday.

The sheriff's department says it received a report of a man collapsing during the Journey's Marathon.

Officers took 68-year-old Robert Zapranoff of Mercer to the hospital.

That's where the coroner pronounced him dead.

The marathon is in its 12th year. The Eagle River Chamber of Commerce says Zapranoff is the first person to die during the event.

Online records show Zapranoff completed the race last year.
