Double-Amputee Runner Awaits Verdict

Pistorius_x365_2 Blog:  You probably remember reading the story and watching the video I posted a few months back about Oscar Pistorius, the double-amputee runner that wants to compete with able-bodied athletes.  The IAAF ruled that his prosthetic limbs gave him an unfair advantage over the competition.  Oscar appealed their decision and a verdict is coming soon.

Brazilian marathon runner De Lima set to miss Beijing

The Brazilian runner who was attacked while leading the marathon at the 2004 Olympics, will miss the Beijing Games because of injury.

Vanderlei de Lima was leading with around six kilometres to run in Athens when a former Irish priest Cornelius Horan ran across the course and bundled him into the crowd.

He struggled free and despite losing 20 seconds went on to finish third.

However a nagging injury in the back of his left thigh has ruled him out on Sunday's Prague marathon, his last chance to qualify.

"I do struggle with that at times," Hall told ESPN.com in a recent telephone conversation. "You find yourself questioning whether you're making an impact on the world, what lasting mark you're leaving."
