Students run marathon, one lap at a time

Images1_2 Blog: As a kid, I hated running.  Don't get me wrong.  I was active.   Very active.  I played soccer, football, baseball, basketball, and and any other type of game that could be made up in a backyard.  If you put a ball in the game, I'd chase it all day.  And I never got tired.  But tell me to run and nothing else.  No way.

Now that I'm older, I've discovered the joy of running.  I'd love to pass that on to my son, but I'm afraid he's too much like I was when I was 10.  I wish he could discover the joy of the open road.  The road that has no end.  The road that shows no limits to his distance or goals.  Just wide open possiblities.

I found a story today that gives me hope for him.  A teacher in U.K. is getting kids into running one lap at a time.  It's a simple concept....but often overlooked.
