Nike to sponsor world's biggest 1-day running event

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Nike is sponsoring what it calls the world's biggest one-day running event.Nike has dubbed the Aug. 25 event "The Human Race," which will be held in 25 cities from Los Angeles to Taipei.

The company is encouraging runners who are not in those cities to participate by using Nike equipment that allows them to share information and compete online with other runners.

The routes will take runners by famous landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Istanbul's Bosphorus Bridge.  -- Associated Press
